Melissa K has worked on several country and rock recording projects, but State Line was her first journey onto the live music performance stage. Already a seasoned veteran with a number of performances under her belt with State Line, audiences recognize and love her sweet and sultry vocals and harmonies. She provides the complimentary singing style and range of material that sets State Line apart from other regional bands.

Steve Zuzak

Guitar and Vocals

Steve Zuzak is a founding member and the driving force behind the State Line band. In addition to delivering powerful lead and backup vocals for the band, he plays guitar and writes much of the band's original music. Steve has performed throughout Northern Ohio and Pennsylvania in a variety of venues over the last 15 years with Southern Influence, Diamonds & Spurs, Highway Robbery, and the  Loaded Dice Band playing country flavored music. Upon departing Loaded Dice, Steve's concept was to form a honky tonk band, but with a female singer. After some trial and error with different personnel and singers, he finally found the right match for his singing style with Melissa K and formed State Line to complement their vocal talents. He feels that the current State Line lineup features some of the best pickers and singers in the region.

Guss T

Guitar and Vocals

Guss joined State Line in the role of full-time lead guitar. Currently based in Cleveland, Ohio, he can play a variety of music styles and is influenced by guitar legends Eric Clapton, Carl Perkins, Billy Gibbons and James Barton. He has appeared throughout the region with Rock and Classic Rock bands including Granite, Pillage, Fresh, Roxoff, Knock Yourself Out, Grandslam, Chameleon, The Basics and The Rangers. He has an Associate Degree in Music from Cuyahoga Community College, where he performed with the Classical Guitar Ensemble and the Big Band Jazz Ensemble, and won the annual Special Talent Award at the 1982 Honors Recital. In addition to his special ability to alter his guitar playing style to fit almost any situation, Guss also sings high harmony backups for most of the band's songs and unique lead vocals for several Rock standards.

Joe is the newest member of State Line. With his awesome dance moves and boyish good looks he's a great addition to this honky tonk band. Playing with a variety of bands for over 15 years, we say...welcome aboard!

David's interest in music started at an early age. The first band he joined was The Furnace Boys at the age of 14 and before moving to Cleveland from Uniontown, Pennsylvania, he had worked with The Denny Paul Band and Tom and the Country Four. David freelanced with a variety of Cleveland acts before settling down with The Rangers from 1997 through 2003 where he met Guss T. David is also trained in several other instruments including guitar, bass guitar, mandolin and banjo, but percussion is still his favorite and State Line welcomes his solid meter and tasteful drumming to their lineup.
