OVERVIEW
One of my network administrator friends told me about
this software package and its features. Norton Ghost 2003 is a complete multi-function
solution for disk backup, recovery and cloning. It functions with the Windows
XP, 2000, NT Workstation and 98 operating systems and comes on a CD. Also included,
unusual for many software packages today, is a full written instructional booklet
of about 215 pages.
One
feature that is familiar to many users and very handy is the wizards. This program
includes a number of them, including backup, restore, cloning, peer-to-peer,
and boot wizard, These handy help screens step the inexperienced user through
common ghost functions with easy to use menus and help screens. Another useful
utility is the Gdisk function that allows special disk operations such as FAT
formatting, batch modes, secure disk wiping, and partition controls. Networking
functions allow ghosting over network connections or through the parallel printer
port. Additional support is given for popular backup media including USB, firewire,
CD-RW, and other removable media.

Category - May be hard for the inexperienced computer user to understand operation and concepts (although the wizards help this to some degree).
COMMENTS
For those computer users looking for a backup solution that truly restores the computer to its pristine state, this program is definitely the ticket. It also solve the universal problem of replacing a hard disk drive without having to re-install the operating system and software. All-in-all, any savvy user will be truly pleased with this release of Ghost.
