Lyric Language Italian
Lyric Language Italian / English 2 is the second videotape in a two part series of Italian language learning programs targeted to young children. The tape is in color and runs about 30 minutes. The program consists of several short features with themes. Some of the themes include picnics, amusement parks, boat trips and family members. Each segment is presented with a song, and each song is sung with the Italian and English lyrics alternating. At times, the English lyrics comes first, and in other portions the Italian lyrics lead. Most of the words and phrases are covered at least twice in each song, with important words being repeated more often for reinforcement. Much of the content of this videotape is basic, and one can easily use this videotape without having viewed the first tape in the series. This videotape is by far the most professionally produced children's language learning program we have seen in VHS. The songs are truly unique and lively, and well sung by the children singing them. The action in the video sequences is also lively, and the actors don't seem staged or stiff like they do in many other tapes of this genre. Children want to watch this tape without needing encouragement and even young ones will stay through the entire feature. This program is a great way to introduce your child to a new foreign language or to reinforce existing language skills. The features are fun for both children and adults.
